ruddock performing arts centre - king edward VI school
Working closely with Shaylor Group contractors the project was taken from the planning scheme and developed through detail design adjusing the scheme to fit the affordability envelope and still creating excellent performing arts facilities for the King Edwards Independent schools for boys and girls. The 400 seat auditorium has a flexible stage arrangement, with two balconies above the main seating area. Accommodation also includes a 100 seat drama studio theatre, dance studio and a multitude of recording and practice rooms for music as well as a set design workshop. The new building material palette was carefully selected with the Conservation officer to ensure an appropriate new building in the important setting. Nick was lead architect and Project partner for this project whilst at adp.
